Hej, I need to apologize but my swedish ain’t that great yet (I’m living in the states), so here it goes in English:
I was looking to fit a light bar on my WRX and noticed on my recent trip to Sweden that pretty much every other car had those huge lights fitted to the front but no light bar. I never quite figured out how those lights are actually attached to the car, and while searching for “extraljusfästen” on google I came across some things but again: my lack of swedish vocabulary doesn’t help – it looks like they’re mostly fitted to the license plates, is that right? Sounds hard to believe, given that the license plate is only held by two tiny screws.
Any insight/link is much appreciated. I’d prefer that cleaner look compared to a rally innovations light bar.
Tack så mycket,
Tom1 augusti, 2007 kl. 06:33 #161643NiklasDeltagareCould it be as simple as some kind of bar mounted behind the licenseplate? I know that some have that sollution making the lights sit just on top of the plate.
Hey Ozo, don’t you drive around with such a sollution on your wagon?

Here you go
http://www.biltema.se/Archive%5CProduct_images%5C42%5CLarge%5C42-490_l.jpgIt’s attach behind the licensplate and comes with 2-5 fix points depend on how many lights you got.
But you still need some “Stabiliseringsstag” (dont know the word in english) to keep the lights stable and in position.

I don’t think those stabilizer bars will be necessary as I’m using Lightforce beams, which worked out great for the past 6 years on my off road truck, never had to re-adjust them since I installed them.
Thanks a bunch!
3 augusti, 2007 kl. 05:23 #161644NiklasDeltagareNo drilling! 😮 …at least not on a european Impreza.
The license plate (or if you have a license plate holder) is screwed to the bumper with two screws. Remove the plate and then this “holder” is put onto the bumper. Now mount the licenseplate and the light holder thingy is “stuck” between the bumper and the licenseplate.
So come back to Sweden and do what every other swede do, make a trip to Biltema. 😀
3 augusti, 2007 kl. 05:46 #161639SecretAgentManDeltagareThe bumper is a bit wobbly, so you’ll definitely need the stabilizer bars. 🙂

3 augusti, 2007 kl. 15:51 #161642tomakDeltagareThanks fellows. I agree, after a second look at that bumper it is flimsy. Too bad I can’t just get that plate in Sweden when I’m heading back probably later this year, since my license plate is a different format than the European plates.
I think if I can figure out how the rally innovations lightbar attaches to the front bumper I can probably fab up some sort of plate that’ll work just the same way as those extraljusfästen. 🙂3 augusti, 2007 kl. 18:19 #161645NiklasDeltagareI guess you could buy the swedish one and drill new holes to fit the holes in your bumper.
