k to say im pissed is an understatement i paid 11.5k to Turbo center in tumba to get my type R tuned for swedish besiktning emissions last month, when i asked if they had experience with simtek systems tehy replied of course, yet after having the car for a week i was informed they didnt have the cable to communicate with my car, they could order one from england i agreed to this and the software program as well, 3 weeks later i get the car back with a new lambda(supplied by me)and cable/software, on way home car stalls at crossings and idle pendals up and down phone call later im back there week after to have it adjusted and express my impression of them, guy adjusts map so that it adles and seems ok.
drove to sollentuna today to get it reg besikted, car is in great conditionn says the guy except your emissions are to high needless to say im not happy.
Co 0.9 Hc 64
Co 2500 0.8 Lamda 0.97my question is is there any one in the stockholm area that you guys recommend that has knowledge of simtek on subarus. i have a type R ver3 97 with simtek fitted it has cable fitted for laptop and i posses simtec mapping software and key if needed.
turbo center have succesfully deleted my track map and it now has only one map on it that as you can see didnt pass besiktning i will be talking to them after new year when they are back at work about repaying some of my money but i do not trust them at all to work on the car again.
any advice on this would be greatly appreciated guys.
merry xmas

Trosa23 december, 2011 kl. 17:39 #233904TurbovinDeltagareYou can try to adjust the global fuel multiplier in the Simtek software, I had to do that to pass the emissions at my last visit. It’s quite easy to adjust and it adjusts the fuel tables globally. But after passing the emissions you must adjust the multiplier back, otherwise you might risk the engine running slightly lean. Of course it would be better to adjust only the tables that affects idle and 2500 rpm but that requires some more mapping skills. Unfortunately there isn’t any great Simtek mapper here in Sweden but anyone who is mapping different ecu’s daily should be able to fix this.
It would be best to drive the car to a workshop which has equipment for measuring emissions and there try to adjust the global fuel multiplier enough for the emissions to pass the limit.
If you’re lucky like me you can find a bilprovning which is tolerant and lets you adjust the Simtek while you are there but don’t think there are that many places in your region that allows that.
11500 kr for the adjustment? I can totally understand you’re pissed, that’s not even nearly what the full map costs when you buy the Simtek new.
23 december, 2011 kl. 18:20 #233907TypeRDeltagarehave emissions tester at work will have to have a look into that, tbh never worked with mapping before lbut guess i have the software etc now might be worth it just to get it through besiktning, could probably take a copy of map theve made and put it onto position 2 and play around with it there.
yea was a bit suprised at the price, the cable and software was only 1250sk +tax, and 400sk to switch lamda the rest was for mapping it which it seems he did a crap job off.
