Sitter och grunnar lite inför framtiden. Fastnat för det här med foder och deck inserts som inte verkar vara allt för avancerat att genomföra…..
Mina undringar:
-Har jag fattat det rätt att man fräser ur lite ur vattenmanteln vid ”decket”, fräser ut en motsvarande profil med motsvarande kylvätskehål som i toppen och pressar ner i blocket? Eller ska det svetsas, limmas eller något annat? Någon som råkar veta vilken tjocklek man siktar på?
-Angående foder. Finns det material nog till att borra upp ett ej257 block och peta i foder utan problem? Kan man kanske rent av gå upp i volym? Jag har letat men inte hittat några lösa foder till motorn att köpa löst. Tips, eller ska man ge sig på att svarva dom själv också 😀 ?
Är subbans originallopp nicasilerat eller någonting?

Seems to be a few places that are doing this now and was something i was considering but after speaking with simon from chevron and learning about the heat issues this is causing its a deffo no no for me 😉
Hmmm interesting. Don’t want any overheating, especially since the motor must be able to perform continuously.
Do you know if a ej257 block with steel sleeves can stand around 800hp without any issues, without deck insert?
tough one matey, tbh its an Engine i will stay well clear off, the problem is that the liners tend to drop even after spending 7k+ on enguine builds people have had to have them rebuilt after a couple months again because the liners have moved, you really need to talk to a high end Engine builder like simon at Chevron(00441785223336), kev at sclinic(00441246590807), David at api(00441926614333) etc to get a full Picture and then make your decision from there as were talking a lot of Money.
might want to ask them about the destroke to 2.32/5 that is starting to be an option people are looking at as the block is so much cheaper/easier to get hold off might be a better option for you at that Power 😉
