How to interpret chassis codes
Subaru uses a seven-digit code for each individual model. This can be found on the vehicle identification number (VIN) plate inside the engine bay.
modelcode: G=Impreza (S=Forester, B=Legacy)
Body type: C=Saloon and Coupe, F=Sports Wagon
Engine type: 8=2.0-litre turbo (6=1.8, 4=1.6, 1=1.5)
Year series code: A=MY93, B=MY94, C=MY95/96, D=MY97, E=MY98, F=MY99, G=MY00
Number of doors: 2=two-door coupe, 4=four-door saloon, 5=five-door sports wagon
Model type: 8=WRX, 7=RA, E=STi(from version III), D=STi type R and RA, S=22B
Transmission: D=five-speed manual, P=four-speed automatic
Detta gäller gt-serien (troligtvis är det samma på wrx:en åxo, bara att dom fortsatt med alfabetet på year series code)
