any idea, when it comes to car audio in sweden vs. usa, if the receiver makes a difference as long as it has european frequencies for the radio or the power to the subwoofer would be different (e.g. battery power difference?)?

      thx!

Speaking from experience – a head unit from North America will not get good FM radio reception in Europe. This is due to differencies in frequency steppings. If i remember correctly my US head unit only locked on odd numbers (99.1, 99.3, 99.5 and so on) so when I wanted to tune in to stations on even numbers (like 99.2 MHz) the best I would get is bad reception and many times I’d get no reception at all.

edit: The head unit will of course tune in to stations on odd frequencies without a problem.

Thx zanoii. This is exactly the kind of info I need. The receiver I’m looking at states “European Tuning: Lets you tune to the European interval of .05 kHz. If a receiver has European tuning, it can be used in many countries overseas.” so I’m thinking I may be OK for this particular issue? I’m double checking with the manufacturer, Kenwood.
