My Impreza had a K&N panel filter (in the original air box) when I bought it, and about six months after the purchase the mass air flow meter broke down.
The problem with most/all filters with increased air flow is simply that they sacrifice filtering for more throughput, letting more dirt pass. The stock mass air flow meter in the Impreza is rather sensitive and has a tendency to break down, so it’s better to use the stock air filter unless you really need the increased airflow.
The stock filter works just fine for me, having increased the max boost pressure to about 1.1 bar (and having a 3″ exhaust system).
I’ve been told the replacement mass air flow meter is less sensitive than stock, but I’m not taking any unnecessary chances.

Ok.
But but how far orginal can handle? I have heard also that too much if filter have oil that will be dead to air flow meter.
Any idea where ask apexi, hks or greddy turbotimer and wire set?
I also need air/fuel ratio meter. What qould be good and where i could byy that.

You are correct that having too much oil in a reusable aftermarket air filter may break down the air flow meter – oil drops can hit the meter.
The only air/fuel meter i know about is the LambdaLink, but there are most likely more visually appealing alternatives. 🙂
